5G networks emit harmful radiation that causes cancer, weakens the immune system, or spreads COVID-19.
5G operates at frequencies (sub-6 GHz and millimetre waves) in the non-ionizing spectrum, incapable of breaking chemical bonds or damaging DNA the way ionizing radiation (X-rays, gamma rays) does. Decades of research on radiofrequency fields show no causal link to cancer or immune dysfunction at typical exposure levels; the WHO, FDA, and IEEE establish safety guidelines based on thermal effects. The COVID-19 conspiracy emerged in early 2020 despite the virus spreading in countries without 5G, through nations on 2G/3G, and decades before 5G deployment. Engineers deployed 5G in China, South Korea, and later globally while pandemic control faltered due to behaviour and policy, not radio frequencies. Fear of cellular technology recycles from 2G, 3G, and 4G deployments, driven by unfamiliarity with RF physics and commercial 'wellness' products marketed toward anxiety.
