Brown sugar is a natural, healthier alternative to white sugar with more nutrients and lower calories.
Brown sugar and white sugar are nutritionally nearly identical. Brown sugar is simply white sugar with molasses added back (molasses is removed during white sugar processing). Both have the same caloric content and similar metabolic effects. The slight differences in micronutrients are negligible. The 'natural' appearance of brown sugar is misleading; both are highly processed.
