Broken Glass Will Cut Your Stomach If Swallowed

Glass typically passes safely through the digestive system

If you swallow broken glass, it will cut your mouth, throat, and stomach causing serious internal bleeding.

While extremely small glass particles may pass harmlessly, larger pieces of broken glass are genuinely dangerous and can cause injury. However, smooth, small glass fragments (like fine sand) often pass through the digestive system without harm due to being too small to cause damage. Regardless, intentionally swallowing glass is dangerous and should not be done.
