Gluten is harmful to most people and causes inflammation, digestive problems, and health issues.
Celiac disease affects only about 1% of the population. Non-celiac gluten sensitivity is rare and difficult to validate scientifically. Many perceived gluten effects are placebo responses. Most people tolerate gluten well. While legitimate celiac disease and wheat allergy exist, routine gluten avoidance is unnecessary for the general population.
