Running Ruins Your Knees

Moderate running doesn't increase knee osteoarthritis risk

Running regularly will wear out your knees and cause osteoarthritis.

Multiple long-term studies show that moderate running does not increase the risk of knee osteoarthritis and may actually be protective. Sedentary lifestyles pose more risk to joint health than running. Extreme endurance running (ultra-marathons) might slightly increase injury risk, but recreational running maintains joint health through improved cartilage nutrition and stronger supporting muscles.
