The Moon landing in 1969 was faked by NASA

The flag was on a horizontal rod (the wave is the rod, plus residual motion from being planted), the shadows are correct for a single point light source on rough terrain (ask anyone who works in 3D rendering), the Van Allen belts were transited fast enough to deliver a non-fatal dose (the astronauts received about 1 millisievert, less than a CT scan), and the footage was grainy because broadcast bandwidth in 1969 was 320 lines and slow-scan television. The Soviets, who had every motive to expose a fake, instead independently tracked the missions on their own radar, sent congratulations, and continued their own (uncrewed) lunar program with full awareness that the Americans had landed. Three decades later, lunar reconnaissance orbiter photos resolved the actual descent stages still sitting on the lunar surface, plus the rover tracks, plus the experimental retroreflectors that any university with a laser and a telescope can still bounce a beam off today.
