Velociraptors were large predators comparable to human size or larger, as portrayed in Jurassic Park.
The most famous velociraptor species, Velociraptor mongoliensis, was approximately 0.5-0.7 metres tall and weighed around 15-20 kilograms, roughly the size of a modern turkey or large chicken. Jurassic Park deliberately enlarged raptors to 2+ metres for dramatic effect, actually depicting a different genus (Deinonychus) but calling them 'velociraptors.' The film combined features from multiple species for cinematic impact. Some other dromaeosaurs like Deinonychus were larger (2-3 metres), but the iconic Velociraptor was small by dinosaur standards.
