Wifi is radiation, all radiation is bad, wifi is in your house 24 hours a day, therefore wifi is slowly poisoning your kids. Schools have started turning routers off at night. There are anti-wifi paint products. There are bedrooms wallpapered with foil. People who feel sick when they're near a router have made entire careers out of it. The dose is small but constant, and what about all those kids with their phones under the pillow.
Wifi runs at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, both non-ionising radio frequencies, well below the threshold needed to break a chemical bond. The output power of a domestic wifi router is around 100 milliwatts, comparable to a child's nightlight. Sunlight on your face is roughly 1,000 watts per square metre on a clear day at noon. Your microwave runs at 1,000 watts, also at 2.45 GHz, but contained inside a Faraday cage; the leakage outside the box is regulated to under 5 milliwatts per square centimetre, vastly more than wifi exposure even pressed against the antenna. Twenty years of epidemiological work, including studies pooling hundreds of thousands of subjects, have found no causal relationship between residential wifi exposure and any cancer. 'Electromagnetic hypersensitivity' has been tested in double-blind trials and the affected people cannot reliably distinguish whether the wifi is on or off. The symptoms are real (nocebo effects can produce genuine headache, nausea, sleep disruption). The cause is not the router. The router is fine.
