Evolution says humans descended directly from monkeys.
This is a common misinterpretation of evolution. Humans and monkeys didn't evolve in a direct line. Instead, humans and modern monkeys (and apes) all descended from a common ancestor that lived millions of years ago. We share more recent common ancestors with great apes than with monkeys. The phrase 'descended from' is technically inaccurate; a better description is 'share evolutionary ancestry.'
