Large groups of lemmings intentionally throw themselves off cliffs in mysterious synchronized mass suicide events.
The lemming suicide myth originated entirely from a deceptive 1958 Disney documentary 'White Wilderness' that staged fake lemming cliff-falling footage. Lemmings naturally migrate but sometimes accidentally fall during migration. No evidence supports intentional or synchronized suicidal behaviour in any lemming species.
